It’s the little things

For a week we had the day planned. I told my oldest daughter when she was 13 she could have her nails done with me. She turned 13 in December and well you know Covid. So a week ago I told her she could go with me when I go to get a full in and we would have a spa day.

So we sat there picking out colors and they took her to her station to get started. I would walk over and check on her to make sure everything was going good, she was so cheerful and happy. When we left she was all smiles, the happiest I’ve seen her in a while.

When we got to the car she wanted to go do girl things, you know shopping and lunch. We had the best day and I was in cloud 9. My teenager wanted to spend time with me! Although it may not be a big deal to many it was to me. This few hours we spent together, just the 2 of us, was filled full of laughs and talks, I couldn’t have asked for a better day!

It’s truly the little things in life that mean the most. Do the girls days, set aside time for one on one time with each kid, and cherish every second because time goes by so fast.
